PORTA-DOLLY III  makes it easy to wheel your Porta-bote to the water when the distance is great !
You can assemble your Porta-bote by your vehicle, put in your gear and outboard motor and roll your Porta-bote to the launch area. You can position your Porta-dolly so that it is balanced and very light in your hand.

You can even take your Porta-Dolly off after you have launched your Porta-bote. You can easily store the Dolly under a seat so you do not have to go all the way back to your vehicle.

When you come back to shore, put your Porta-bote back on your Dolly and just wheel it back to your vehicle.  Take your Dolly off , take the wheels off if you need to and pack it away in a very small space. Fold up your Porta-bote, and sit back and watch the line up of people with trailers , waiting at the boat launch. Boating does not have to be complicated !!

INITIAL SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
1- Insert a stainless steel bolt through each of the 2 holes of the bottom of the Porta-dolly side and through each of the 2 vertical slots in the top Dolly side. After inserting each bolt through both sides, place a washer on each bolt. Then screw on a wing nut just tight enough that the top sides can still be easily adjusted up and down when you later place the bottom part of the Dolly under the bottom tubing of the hull of your Porta-bote.

2- Insert the wheel hub into the axle of the Porta-dolly. Insert a lock pin through the hole in the axle. Make sure the large loop of the pin is facing up.

3- With your Porta-bote empty of gear, place one side of the Porta-Dolly next to the side of your assembled Porta-bote, just behind the oar lock socket. Lift up the side of your Porta-bote and attach the Porta-Dolly's bottom channel under the bottom tubing.

4- Make sure the top channel is shoved down tight on the top tubing. Now tighten wing nuts to lock dolly in place. Repeat same steps on other side.

5-
Actual placement of your Porta-dolly depends on how weight of gear is placed in the empty boat. The more weight in the rear , the farther back the placement. Once you find your balance point, you can use an indelible waterproof marker to mark a spot on the hull for future use.

IMPORTANT - How to pull in deep sand or water

Attach a long rope to each axle. Slowly pull the Porta-Dolly with the rope. Just rest your hand on the bow ( front ) of the boat to help guide it. By gently pulling on the Dolly axles rather than the boat, you will have control in sand, mud or on uneven ground. Don't try to rotate/turn the boat when standing still in deep sand, mud etc. As long as you are moving forward you can turn easily.
